Re: How to create jnlp bundle using Maven
Hi, This is really a Maven question. I cannot say what is the problem in your set up, However I can share the way we have built jar files for deployment when we do tests. So following the pom of the project which has java programs as maven modules. It uses Maven's jar and jar-signer plugins. The key...

Re: Cannot load JavaFX classes from JDKs that include them
Hello, Please see: https://github.com/karakun/OpenWebStart/blob/master/documentation/faq/FAQ.adoc#how-to-run-openjfx-based-javafx-applications-with-openwebstart You are using JVM with JavaFX for running your Jnlp Application which has some JavaFx code. In this case you must make sure that required J...

OpenWebStart JavaFX problem
OWS used to provide a JVM with Java FX at https://download-openwebstart.com/jvms . With this JVM, OWS could run JavaFX applications out-of -the-box. However, after JVMs were upgraded to 1.8.0_242, JVM with JavaFX is no longer available at https://download-openwebstart.com/jvms . So the question is h...

Re: Dock icon and app name on Mac
On Mac, for an application started by Java, the name of the main class is shown in the Main menu bar. It appear that Oracle JWS directly starts the Jnlp application main class with java and hence you see the name of the Jnlp main class in the Main Menu Bar. OWS on the other hand starts the Jnlp appl...

Dock icon and app name on Mac
On Mac, with Java Web Start the app name is the name of the Jnlp application as shown below:
Also the Dock icon is the Application's icon.
With OWS the app name is shown as "Boot" and Java's Duke is shown as Dock icon:

Re: Proxy warning on Mac
OWS uses scutil to get Proxy information on Mac when "System Proxy" setting is specified. Some of the proxy settings may not be supported and hence the warning. "System Proxy" is the default proxy setting for OWS.. You can override the default proxy setting of OWS at installation...

Proxy warning on Mac
For OWS Default Proxy Setting i.e. "System Proxy", OWS is showing the following warning:
With OWS "No Proxy" settings the warning is not shown.
Is it possible to configure "No proxy" Setting in the response.varfile?

JVM could not be started error.
We regularly get this error when running applications that require "Java". OWS throws up the dialog in the attachment. JVMStartError.PNG This could be because OWS is started with JVM max heap size -Xmx which is exceeding the size of available memory on your machine. You should also check ...

Re: Where do I find the OWS log files?
I am unfortunately unable to find a config folder in the user directory When reporting a technical issue with OWS, it is helpful to attach the logs to be able to pinpoint the problem quickly. The logs for OpenWebStart can be found in directory "<User Home>/.config/icedtea-web/logs". In ca...
