Oracle Webforms? Will this work?

So my situation... I upgraded to Big Sur and now I can't use EBusiness Suite to access Oracle. I get an error that the Java Application launch failed because frmservlet (jnlp file) isn't recognized. Once I realized java web start was gone I started looking for an alternative and came across this. I have installed it per the instructions but I see no difference, same error. I thought I would see if this is going to work or not before I start digging into more troubleshooting. SOOO wish I had not upgraded to Big Sur. Lesson learned.

Ok it actually DID work... it opens... then before I can do anything it closes again.

Which version of OWS are you using?

Can you please enable logging and send us the logs?

We have the same issue using OWS 1.4.0 . Webform opens for a second or two, then crashes. What's the best way to send you our logs?

Hi

You can attach the log as .txt to a post. Also if possible attach your jnlp file as a .txt file.

Which JVM and version are you using to start your app?

From the logs it looks like the Oracle Webforms is an applet and not an application.
Applets are no longer supported by OpenWebStart.

If you need support for applets then please consider useing Icedtea-Web
