if not, is there a version of OpenWebStart that works in Windows 7?

We do not officially support Windows 7.
But we do not know of any reason why it should not work.

I would recommend to give it a try. Most likely you will be able to run it without problems

Thanks for your response. It worked on Windows 7 after the cache location was switched back to the default.
